I guess that's a cheap way to get rid of an embarrassing tattoo...
There used to be a very graphic site called "Live to Ride, Ride to Die" that showed pictures like this (and way worse) to encourage wearing proper gear. I looked at it when I first started riding and it inspired me to go out and purchase boots and Cordura pants.
