August 2014 Open Ride, Sunday the 10th!

#1 Post by chiconaduc » Thu Jul 31, 2014 12:57 pm

Take a lovely ride through Marin and Sonama counties with Curve Unit!
This is an open ride, so all are welcome as long as you have a current M-1 and registration, proper riding attire (no shorts!), and a good attitude. Please arrive with a full tank of gas.

MEET SPOT: Starbucks, 260 Northgate Dr, San Rafael, CA

MEET TIME: 10am
KSU: 10:30am

We'll wind our way over to the coast, head up to Tomales to re-group, stretch our legs, and grab some refreshments. We'll continue west toward Dillon Beach, turn north and back inland, hit some more twisties, and stop to re-group, get gas, and stretch in Novato. From there, we'll hop on the freeway south, cross the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge, and end up in Berkeley at Brennan's for lunch.

Here is a MAP.
Directions will be provided at the meet spot.
For ladies wishing to find out more about Curve Unit, we'll be having our monthly meeting at Brennan's after lunch. Hope to see you there!

Can't wait to see everyone!!! I may be a little "out of it", as I'm in SF Friday/Sat a.m., then a work function in Monterey Sat p.m./Sun a.m. Jaaaaaaaam home from Monterey to Ripon, saddle up, and meet all you sexy people in San Rafael. Feeeeew, I'm tired already!

The weather is looking great--high for Tomales is predicted to be 72, Novato is 81, and Berkeley is 72 as well.

Wow! Today was a great ride. But not uneventful.....Remind me to be very suspicious whenever I see a silver Mercedes SUV driven by a not so nice guy.
Amongst the regular crew, I met new people today. I enjoyed every minute.
No law enforcement out today. No heat strokes. Just great riding. Great views!!! Saw lots of red tailed hawks and egrets. There was no extraordinary traffic conditions. The dinner at Brennans in Berkeley was top notch. Like being in some east coast diner. I'm so sorry I missed someone's birthday celebration at the diner. I really wanted to see what it was like to have someone get "hauled" in for such an event. So sorry I missed that. That would have been a stunning photo op. I got home in record time. Total miles round trip was 300 miles. Total cost of gas was 18 big bucks. Wow, you can't beat it!!!! Did I say, that riding motorcycles is really the best.
