May 19, 2013 Monthly Ride-Gary Jaehne Memorial Run

Hi all!
Our CU May ride will be a day to remember a CU supporter and fellow rider, Gary Jaehne, who lost his life last year on a ride. His wife, Jill, has planned a 1 year anniversary memorial ride, so we will be joining in on that memorial and ride.

Since the ride from the memorial to the beach was left open to the riders to decide, I was going to try and plan our own route, but then saw that BigB already planned an entire "mellow group ride" for the entire route that is basically the original route taken on that fateful day with a stop to the crash site. We will join in at the beach for the BBQ and then CU girls (and any of our supporters that want to help us!) will be helping to clean up at the beach once the BBQ is over and then heading to our meeting spot close by. The day will officially end here unless any ladies want to attend our meeting.(will be posting up location soon, but will be somewhere close to the beach site)
This group ride and memorial are open to any rider, so anyone is welcome to join in, but CU will just be along for the ride as guests and not the organizers or hosts of these rides/events. Therefore our normal leads/sweeps and sweep truck procedures will NOT be in place for this ride. We encourage everyone to ride their own ride and in respect to the actual event, not look at this ride as a chance to drag knee down your favorite twisties. This is a mellow memorial ride! Relax and enjoy!
CU will be meeting up BEFORE we head out to the Union 76 Gas Station! You can either meet with CU at Starbucks on Saratoga or head straight to the gas station:
CU Pre-Meet Spot: Starbucks at 1600 Saratoga Avenue San Jose 95129
Time: KSU PROMPTLY at 9:15. Get there anytime beforehand to be ready to roll at 9:15. The Union 76 is less than 4 miles away. Meet time there is 9:30 with a KSU of 10am.
