Tax Day Ride on Mt. Hamilton

#1 Post by NinjaMama » Thu Mar 21, 2013 7:34 pm

Okay, so it's the day before Tax Day, but it's the perfect time of year to enjoy the green rolling hills and wildflowers.

So polish up your bike and join us on a ride up Mines Road for a little photo-session. We're going to start at the Starbucks (1472 First St., Livermore) by Orchard Supply, head out to Mines Road with a stop at the Junction. From there we're going to go a couple of miles towards Mt. Hamilton and stop at a scenic section of the road for some photos of you and your bike in the beautiful green pastoral setting that we'll find there. From the photo-session, we're going to double back to Del Puerto Canyon Rd. and follow it to Patterson. We'll jump on the freeway up to Patterson Pass Rd. and finish up the ride at Sauced (Oops!... See the new details below), in Livermore for lunch.
UPDATE
Helena and I put our heads together to make this ride just a bit more fun.
Shake the dust off that bathing suit, and get ready for a barbecue, swimming pool, and hot tub at the end of the day. We'll be having our lunch and meeting at Helena's place. We'll provide and barbecue the burgers, have chips and soda's. (Maybe even a beer or two) Donations welcome! For those of you who'd like to trailer your bike out and even spend Saturday night at Helena's, let her know and we'll make the accommodations available to you. Her place is small, so check with her before making those plans. First come first served.
Hope you like the new idea. As they say in the "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy", Don't forget your towel!
xoxoxo
Sabrina

P.S. To find our end spot, you'll have to contact Helena or an officer for the actual address.

This ride is "Guys" by invitation only!
Meet at Starbucks: 9:30 am
Kickstands up at: 10:00 am

If you joined us for our February ride, this'll be a repeat. It can be somewhat technical, and some of the sections are a bit rough, but if you ride at your own pace and stay aware of the road conditions, it's a good route to work on your technical skills. Watch out for some debris on some of the corners, and a few wet spots, but hopefully the weather will be beautiful and the hills will be green and blooming. So expect some great scenery along the way.

in twisted braids of lillies knitting
the loose train of thy amber-dropping hair.

So here is my question for the day. Does Steve really think he has been invited to a pajama party with you "girlies" ?

It was a perfect day to be riding. Jen, after doing 90 plus up Hwy 5, with a cross wind, you were flying through the first few turns on Patterson Pass. You and that little two-fifty can really get up and go. Helena and Steve were worrying me at first, going way out in front, until I realized they weren't pushing each other to their limits but just riding in the same groove. It was another fun ride with the Curve. Sorry I couldn't stay for the food but I am a Vegan and can not be near a BBQ. Someone might see me and get the wrong idea. I drove my girlfriend's silver Prius maybe once in the last couple of months and Patty won't let it go. When we pulled into the Junction she said she could picture me with that very large group of bird watchers on Mines Rd. more than riding my motorcycle. Thanks for "inviting me" Graciela. I know Patty never will.
