CU Group Ride - Sunday, April 10
Polish up your bike and join us for a ride up Mines Road for a little photo session. We're going to start at the Starbucks (1472 First St., Livermore) by Orchard Supply, head out to Mines Road to the Junction. From there we're going to go a couple of miles towards Mt. Hamilton and stop at a scenic section of the road for some photos of you and your bike in the beautiful green pastoral setting that we find there. From there, we're going to double back to Del Puerto Canyon Rd. and follow it to Patterson. We'll jump on the freeway up to Patterson Pass Rd. and finish up the ride at Los Vaqueros Grill on Vasco Rd. for lunch.
This ride is open to all riders.
Meet at Starbucks: 9:30 am
Kickstands up at: 10:00 am
Be aware that this is a pretty long ride with a total distance of just over 100 miles. It can be somewhat technical, but if you ride at your own pace, it's a good route to work on your technical skills. Watch out for some debris on some of the corners, and a few wet spots, but the weather is suppose to be beautiful and the hills are green and blooming. So expect some great scenery along the way.
Here's the Google map for the ride.
http://tinyurl.com/3gvgef3 After lunch those of us who want to attend the meeting will regroup and head over to the Starbucks/Jamba Juice/Lucky's shopping center on North Livermore Rd. and Portola Ave. Here's the location for those girls who will be attending the meeting. There should be plenty of room for us to meet around the fountain. If it's too busy, we can walk over to the Rock House and get a table out on their patio. The second meeting option: The Rock House

How exciting but unfortunately I have to work. I might be able to do a little of the ride then leave or just attend the meeting. I'm hoping things change. Have fun!

Hey Sabs, I know you'll watch my back.
Someone take me under your wing and enlighten me. Please be gentle and kind. And I don't want to undermine someone else's good ride.
This clutch/gear thing might be bizarre....

We're not heading up and over Mt. Hammy, so you can absolutely handle this ride. It's moderately technical, but nothing that even the newest of newbies can't handle. The key is riding within your comfort zone, even if it's a snail's pace in 2nd gear.soldaze wrote:Hey Sabs, I know you'll watch my back.

Unfortunately I won't be on 2 for this ride, being off work and having problems with EDD paying me has put me behind on my bills... I'm back to work but my rotors aren't paid off yet although my sprocket and chain are so my bike is still in the shop for now
