March 2011 CU Group Ride - Sunday, March 13

Hey ladies! I would actually like to come to the meeting to at least meet some of you. Not ready for a group ride yet...and that distance...

so..sorry..I am confused as to exactly where the meeting is and what time?? How long do your meetings typically last? I am coming from Napa so will be a drive..but I do want to get involved!

Hi Patty. Probably the best way to answer all your questions is to give me a call. I'll be driving the sweep truck and I have a passenger riding along with me. I'll give you a call when we've stopped for lunch so you can start making your way to the meeting place.

No rain so far. We're looking at cloudy and low to mid 60s but still dry. Yay!

And to Patty - Why don't you meet us at Box Seats to have lunch with everyone, then you can follow us to the meeting at Tif's house? That way you'll have an opportunity to meet some of the other girls that come out for our rides too.

If the ride is not rained out, it looks like I'll be driving the sweep-truck. Apparently, some of Madonna's parts are coming over on a slow gondola from Italy and won't make it for another week or so.
With the couple of really beautiful days tucked in between the rainy days lately, I've really been wishing I had her home so I could jump on her on those occasions.
In the mean-time, look for me to be sweeping in "Chica Negra".

May I sweep the sweep truck Sunday? I just got a recall notice on Tink from Suzuki and I won't be able to get it repaired in time. However, DH surprised me with a "replacement" MINI Cooper S last week. RedHot needs some road time too. Love to have lunch and get in touch with all of you again.

BTW, thanks for the January Ride. Two days later I came down with the evil virus, lost my voice completely, missed 3 weeks of work, and didn't ride until last week. I'm still a tad raspy, but can at least sing the low notes now. Now today I get the friggin' recall notice! Anyway, if anyone wants to toodle in my Coop, they are welcome if it is ok with you all. I can meet up with Ninja Mama in Livermore if that works.

Funny... we're having another new girl named Patty joining us Sunday. And her bike is in the shop for a recall notice too. Deja Vu!
I'd be happy to have you follow along and join us on Sunday. I have another girl riding along with me on Sunday, but if the unthinkable happens, we might be able to use a second car on the trip.
I also have another one of our girls who wasn't going to ride because she dinged up her knee on the last ride. If she want's to, I thought I'd put her in touch with you and you two can make arrangements to ride along together.
I'll let you know as soon as I hear back from her.

I'm in for that. I can meet you all in Livermore no problem. I can certainly take a passenger as long as she's willing to sit in RedHot while I blow the tubes out of the turbocharger. And if she lives closer to me than Livermore, we can meet up this way too.

Uh oh....double Patty's?? Lol! Might have to change my name!

Yep...got the Suzuki recall notice today. rectifier assemblies issue..said "don't ride your bike unitl you get it fixed"..uhhhh...how do I get it fixed without riding???

So I called shop in Vallejo and he said bring it in and they have the recall kits and was an hour repair. I was already planning to head to shop to pick up extra clutch cables I ordered...and was going to attempt my first solo ride to shop..pretty close and easy...but this made me nervous to ride..so a local moto friend of mine offered to ride my back...he showed up late...and 1/2 way to shop just as we exited freeway..his old bike stalled! So he waited for AAA and told me he would meet at the shop and take me home...well...after 90 minutes at shop..he was not there..it was already 5:30...and I just took off for home! First solo ride..and it was fantastic! Not as scary as I thought!!!!

So I am planning to come to the grill and then meeting..I wish i could ride..just not ready for the long trip over and riding group...but getting there...passed a big hump today! Woohoo!

So I called shop in Vallejo

The guys at Powersports (especially Bo) are an awesome group - we're really lucky to have them right here! In fact, we used to live just across the alley behind the shop, and when my bike wouldn't start, one of the guys just came over and rolled it over there for me (I was worried about dropping it, especially since the path from our garage to the alley was all gravel). I was just in there Thursday again myself :)
